New Ways to Look at Sound
Audio and visual presentations on acoustics
Monday 8th November 2010
at The Electric Cinema, Birmingham

ASA showcases modern techniques for immersion in acoustic environments and their application in real project work.
You may or may not be aware of Alan Saunders Associates. We have been plying our trade as Acoustic Consultants in Winchester for 15 years, during which time we have carried out the majority of our business in London or further afield.
We have recently opened an office in the Midlands and would like to update fellow professionals on all the clever things we can do with computer software to demonstrate that acoustics is not a ‘black art’, as you previously thought. We can provide real insight into how buildings will sound and the noise impact of construction or transportation projects. During the event we shall take advantage of the occasion to do the following;
- Provide an insight into our work with architects and planning professionals
- Provide networking opportunities for relevant local professionals
- Provide lunch and a couple of free drinks on an otherwise boring Monday
We get to play with the cinema projection and sound systems at The Electric Cinema, so we’ll be showcasing the visually engaging aspects of our work on architecture and planning, involving 3D site evaluation presentations, and auralisation techniques – enabling us to listen to the way buildings sound before they are built!
We’ll also look at some real life case studies and the interface between noise expert and architects and planners. We hope you will register for the event and very much look forward to seeing you on the 8th November.
